GC Therapy Hub
Therapist-led social skills development that helps autistic children, teens and young adults build practical skills and confidence in everyday life.
We are a neuro-affirming allied health practice on the Gold Coast. Our therapy-based programs focus on emotional regulation, communication, social inclusion and participation in the community. Participants practise skills in structured groups and apply them in real-life settings.
Develop communication, coping and social decision-making skills in ways that reflect each participant’s goals.
Support peer connection and community participation while reducing social isolation.
Apply strategies during group activities and community outings, with support and coaching in the moment.
Programs are designed with capacity-building goals in mind, including goals relating to daily living and social and community participation.
Social Workers, Counsellors, Autism Consultants and Support Workers bring different skills to each participant’s emotional, social and practical support.
Social Workers consider the person alongside their family, social and community context. They guide social skills development, emotional regulation, coping strategies, advocacy and resilience, helping participants use skills where they matter.
Counsellors offer a safe space to process experiences and practise everyday regulation skills. Support may include grounding, breathing techniques, reframing thoughts and applying coping strategies at school, at home and in the community. Their practical coaching can complement psychological care when needed.
Autism Consultants help participants and families understand an autism diagnosis in practical terms, navigate supports and use strategies at home and in the community. They provide education and coaching that supports regulation without requiring participants to mask who they are.
Our team shares perspectives across emotional, social and practical needs so programs can be tailored to the participant and their goals.
Our programs are therapist-led, evidence-informed and goal-focused. Skills are introduced in structured settings, then practised in everyday environments such as cafés, bowling venues and other community activities.
The supplied program information describes social skills group training as supporting communication, social understanding, regulation and community participation. We focus on practical signs of progress, such as growing confidence with peers, managing emotions during outings and making decisions within a group.
Structured social learning focused on friendships, communication and, in relevant programs, workplace readiness.
Community outings that provide opportunities to practise flexibility, confidence and independence.
Interest-based group activities that support peer connection, self-expression and regulation.
Structured, creative spaces to practise teamwork, communication and regulation.
Therapeutic excursions and activities that offer opportunities to keep practising skills during school breaks.
Structured, therapist-led social skills development can help participants work towards goals for social connection, independence and community participation. Our team can discuss how a program relates to a participant’s individual NDIS plan and applicable support categories.
